Moody House Museum, built in 1887, reflects the traditions of a very distinguished family. The museum is housed in the restored birthplace of Texas governor Dan Moody, who gained fame by successfully prosecuting the Ku Klux Klan. The Victorian home contains many original furnishings donated by the Moody family.

For hikers and joggers, Bull's Branch Hike & Bike Trail crosses the city and provides a beautiful view of trees, ducks and water.
Taylor's historical downtown area offers visitors the chance to browse unique shop, many housed in historical buildings. The area also features some renowned barbecue restaurants.
The 4,400-acre Granger Lake is ranked as one of the best crappie-fishing lakes in Texas. Four parks are situated on the shores of Granger Lake: Friendship Park, Taylor Park, Willis Creek Park, and Wilson H. Fox Park. These parks provide campgrounds, restrooms, picnic areas, boat ramps, and opportunities for shoreline fishing.
